Do you use a Mac and/or PC? If so which one do you prefer and why?

I use a PC, but I'm leaning towards buying a MAC because the PC's are un-reliable.

PC unreliable? There's nothing less reliable than an apple product.

Stop browsin' the porn sites then Seriously though, your computer doesn't have viruses on it just because it's a PC. It's not like they're preloaded with them out of the box. Do you have any type of security installed on it?

I'm not really commenting on whether or not Macs get viruses. Merely on the fact that apple products shouldn't be considered "reliable". I've had plenty of friends lose all the data on their Macs or iPods because it just stopped working on them. I mean it's cool that apple can replace the device for you, but they can't replace lost data. AND, most viruses only find a way to your computer through general misuse. It's not like hackers can target your computer specifically unless you're visiting a less than reputable site or using Limewire to download music/movies/programs. You just gotta keep your security up to date and take care of your PC. I've always had a PC and I've never just lost all my data out of the blue or had a virus that I wasn't able to get rid of. Plus, if you're going to shell out the cash for a Mac you really should just build a custom PC. Just my opinion though.

Custom PCs are the best choice. Taking care of your PC is best as well. But you can lose data on both types. A virus can totally screw your hard drive over where you can't access it. Your hard drive can also go out on you on the PC as well. I prefer the PC because of the convenience it offers. I've used a Mac before. I HATED IT.

My Laptop has Windows Vista as well and My Virus Scanner always says Caution Virus Detected, And when I do scan, sometimes there is a virus on the Laptop.
So far and thank goodness I may add, on my iMac 27 inch Monitor there has been no Viruses.
Who ever mentioned that, it depends on the sites you go on, I believe that this is true, but then again once your connected, those (Hackers) have a way to get into to your computer, regardless of what site your on.
I currently doing Challenge Multimedia at TAFE, which is to do with iMacs and Mac Computers, and the teacher said and I quote "You'll never ever get a virus on a Mac"
So would rather a PC that gives you viruses pretty much 24/7 or an iMac which Never gives you a Virus and works like a charm?
